Signature Collection [15 May 2007|09:39pm]

Here are some pics from my signature collection. The idea was to create conceptual pieces, so my inspiration was San Francisco architecture. I'm graduating in 3 weeks and I'm still desparately looking for an internship. There aren't so many opportunities in the Bay Area. Anyway, here are the pics.

A recent creation [20 Dec 2006|02:11am]

I made this dress in my DES170A class this quarter. For the assignment we had to use a unique fabric manipulation so I played around with braiding. We weren't allowed to spend more than $20, so I used leftover fabric from the sewing lab. The only thing I bought was a zipper, which was nice considering I usually spend $100+ per project.

I'm really annoyed that I don't have professional photos of my projects. I'm going to have to set up a photoshoot while I'm putting my portfolio together.

T-Shirt Design [09 Oct 2006|01:18am]

I made it to the finals in a t-shirt contest on one of my favorite websites! Every design had to be drawn with crayons (in case you're wondering why they all look like little kids drew them, lol). Check it out and vote for mine if you like it best! Browse the site too, especially if you like cute cats.

Bubble Dress [29 Aug 2006|09:49pm]

I love the bubble trend, so I incorporated it into my latest dress design. I finished it yesterday and I'm quite happy with it.

edit: i cropped my face out because it was bugging me.

[18 Aug 2006|01:38am]

I know, I never update. But here are some new photos I took for my b&w photo class. The theme I chose for my final project was "Fashion Accesories." I'm throwing in some other pics I took too, just because.

[28 May 2006|01:16pm]

Here is my newest design. If I could do it again, I would probably choose different colors, but overall I'm still happy with it. Each button was hand-sewn and that part alone took me roughly 15 hours. The hard work payed off though...it was voted as the best dress in the class! I won a gift card to the fabric store and get to have my dress in the display case in the design building for a week.

[23 Apr 2006|12:54am]

Today was the 20th Annual fashion show of the UC Davis Runway Designer's Club. Two of my designs were featured in the single garment portion of the show and I modeled one of Melody's Signature "Rainforest" designs. We had professional hair and make-up, as well as professional pictures, but for now I only have the pictures taken with my camera.

Another Masterpiece [26 Aug 2004|10:37pm]
Nothing inspires quite like nature. Rae and I took an impromptu walk to Canyon on Monday, and despite our lack of EBMud trail permit, we managed not to get arrested or eaten by mountain lions. We found a picturesque spot along the trail and parked ourselves there to write another one of our masterpieces. I admit, the story we wrote wasn't the greatest, but we did come out of the day with these pictures:

Have you ever seen nature inspire anyone quite like this?

As promised... [24 Jul 2004|01:11pm]
Here's a poem Rae and I wrote. I hope you can catch the sexual innuendo.

A young girl's dream

When e'er I think of Geoffrey dear
And all of Greecian things revered,
Vestal Virgins dance through my mind
with bodies lean and hearts sublime.
All their movements have one aim:
to merge as one but free of shame.
Why does he this attention bring?
Why is his the name they sing?
The answer comes straight gushing forth
and lures the Virgins to the source.
He feasts 'pon cherries plump and pure.
Spite the love he remains demure.
They sweat and swell, working their hands
Erecting his glory as fast as they can.
And Geoffrey leans back upon his throne
And from his lips escapes a moan.
His head rolls back, his eyes go with
and in the end a final twitch.
And thus concludes my revery
of him who consumes each part of me.

Freshman Year Mix [20 Jun 2004|11:12pm]
Matt Granoff inspired me to make a Freshman Year Mix and post it on my LJ. In other words, I'm copying him. So here's the masterpiece I threw together:

"Sleep To Dream" Fiona Apple
"You Don't Know My Name" Alicia Keys
"The Boring Life" The Slycaps
"Opposite Direction" Geoff Lorenz :-)
"Do You Think I'm a Whore" Kittie
"Anyone Who Had A Heart" Kimberely Locke
"Chop Suey" System of a Down (this one never gets old)
"Don't Tell Me" Avril Lavigne
"Losing Grip" Avril Lavigne
"Breathe" Michelle Branch
"Low" Kelly Clarkson
"A House Is Not A Home" Tamyra Gray
"Battle of Who Could Care Less" Ben Folds Five
"Dear Mary" Mike's Room (shameless self-promotion)
"Make It Easy On Yourself" Lucy Hale
"What About That" Janet Jackson
"Hello" Lionel Richie/Gimme Gimmes
"Teenage Dirtbag" Wheatus

I know I forgot a bunch of good songs I listened to this year... oh well.
